Seresco joins the switch to green hydrogen

MetaIndustry4, the metal industry cluster, has been analyzing capabilities of Asturian companies in the value chain of green hydrogen, whether it be for engineering, production, management or project implementation. The fruit of this labor is that 26 regional companies, including Seresco, have joined forces to ‘sell’ these capabilities.

The goal is to take advantage of opportunities for an “energy vector” that is gaining momentum as an alternative to fossil fuels and for which there is a specific strategy in place spearheaded by the European Commission and an additional strategy promoted by the Spanish government. Those who implement the first projects will gain an important asset, and Asturian companies already have relevant experience in traditional lines of business that they must know how to leverage and repurpose.

The value chain focuses on engineering, production and management of green hydrogen, without including the power generator sector. The approach to this chain focuses on the analysis of the five major fields: engineering, production, construction and assembly, operations and logistics, as well as the field of other intensive services needed for the value chain, such as R+D and innovation or certification authorities, among others.

Seresco joins the switch to green hydrogen

This project provides a compilation of all capabilities that the companies of this cluster can offer in the field of green hydrogen in order to secure access to national and international business opportunities, and also in order to introduce themselves both individually and – above all – as part of a group of companies.26 Asturian companies will take part in this value chain, including: Seresco.

The analysis that they have conducted at the regional level has ensured that MetaIndustry4 will take part in defining the road map for R+D and innovation in green hydrogen in Asturias.
