What is a cookie?

According to the length of their stay, they can be Session Cookies (which serve to collect and store data while the user is accessing a web page and are deleted from the browser when the session ends or the browser closes) or Persistent Cookies (in which case the data is kept in the device for a specific time period by the responsible party, which can be as long as several years).

The cookies utilized, moreover, can be of a technical nature (these enable the user to browse through a web page, platform or application and to use the different options or services that exist there), for customization of the visit (these enable the user to access the service with some general characteristics predefined according to a series of criteria in the user’s terminal), for analysis (these enable the party responsible for the cookies to track and analyze the behavior of the users of the web sites with which they are associated, thus employing this information to measure the activity on the websites and to draw up the users’ browsing profiles) or for advertising (these enable management of advertising spaces that the publisher may include on a web page) or they can be for behavioral analysis (these store information on the users’ behavior obtained by continuous observation of their browsing habits, which serves to create a specific profile and to target advertising campaigns based on this).


On its web page, Seresco uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service from Google Inc. The information generated by the cookies used by Google Analytics may be transferred to and stored on one of Google’s servers in the USA. Google is protected by the Privacy Shield, which provides adequate levels of personal data protection.
